The Silver Fox Story: Honouring Brain Tumour Awareness Week with Love, Strength, and Legacy

The week before marked International Brain Tumour Awareness Week — an important global initiative dedicated to raising awareness and supporting patients, families, and the researchers tirelessly working toward better treatments.

For me, this cause is deeply personal. My father sadly passed away from glioblastoma, a grade 4 brain cancer that profoundly changed our lives. In his memory, I created the Silver Fox Headband — a signature Miss Cicconi creation, designed with purpose and the utmost love, and crafted in soft grey-silver velvet with delicate silver ribbon details (representing brain cancer) and hand-sewn crystal florals.

This piece symbolises strength, remembrance, and hope for everyone touched by this illness. Its name, Silver Fox, reflects both my dad’s spirit and the quiet elegance he carried throughout his life — a reminder that love and legacy live on through the things we create.

Even though Awareness Week has now passed, its message continues. For me, this isn’t just about a cause — it’s about honouring a man who believed in me completely. Dad was always so proud of me as a person and my creative path, and in believing in me when building Miss Cicconi from the ground up, and of my daughter, his niece Alba Florence, who he loved and adored so much, our “mini-me” Designer and Model and Muse, who continues to bring so much light into our lives.

The Silver Fox Headband is a quiet tribute — one that reminds us that beauty and meaning can coexist. Through this piece, I hope to keep shining a light on those we’ve lost, those still fighting, and those dedicating their lives to finding a cure.
